Mattress Villa opened on 19 St NE because northeast Calgary had nowhere close by to lie on a bed before buying it. Everything about how we run — the unit, the stock, the pricing — follows from that.
We opened where our customers already lived
Calgary's mattress retail sits south. Deerfoot Meadows, Macleod Trail, 130 Ave SE — that's the corridor. If you live in Rundle, Whitehorn, Temple, Martindale, Saddle Ridge, Falconridge, Marlborough or Vista Heights, buying a bed meant an hour in the car before you'd tested anything.
So we took a warehouse unit in the Horizon industrial park, filled it with the same mattresses those stores sell, and priced them against what the unit costs rather than what a mall bay costs. That's the entire business model. There isn't a clever second half to it.
Customers started asking whether the same logic could apply to a sofa, a dining set, a coffee table. It could. Today the floor covers mattresses, adjustable bases, storage beds, living room, dining and — from late February each year — patio.

Pay commission
Nobody here earns more by selling you the expensive bed. If the $499 hybrid is the right one for you, that's the one we'll point at.
Rush the test
Four minutes per mattress, in your sleeping position, with a pillow. We'll leave you alone to do it and come back when you wave.
Invent a sale
Our price is our price. There's no permanent 60%-off banner over a doubled tag — you can check what we charge against any written quote in the city.
Hide the warranty terms
We'll tell you before you pay what voids it, what the comfort-exchange window is, and what it costs. In writing, on the invoice.
Guess on fit
Frame measurements, stair turns, mattress-to-base compatibility — we check first. Returning a king down a narrow staircase is nobody's good afternoon.
Disappear after delivery
Same phone number, same family, same unit. If something's wrong in month three, call (587) 837-2525 and you'll get the person who sold it to you.
Calgary, and the drive-in towns around it
We deliver same-day across Calgary and next-day to Airdrie, Chestermere, Balzac, Cochrane and Langdon. Customers regularly drive in from Strathmore and Okotoks because the round trip still costs less than the price difference.
